The students will learn how to create bubble letters and zentangles. The students will also work on matting skills and thinking about how they want their work presented.
Day One
The student will discuss Zentangles and bubble letters. The student will then be shown how to use their pencil eraser to write their name and trace the letters to create bubble letters. Once the letters are outlined, the students will use crayons to create a different pattern in each letter.
Day Two
The students will have a demonstration of wet-on-wet watercolor and the salt texture technique. Students will finish drawing patterns in the letters of their names. Once they are done, they will start to paint the name tags using the wet-on-wet technique for watercolor.
Day Three
The students will choose a color of construction paper and trace their painted name tag onto it. The students will then choose one pattern to draw around the edge of the construction paper with a Sharpie. Once they have finished, the students will glue their painted name tags onto the construction paper.
